Nikki Giovanni is a poet, educator and activist. She has received many awards and honors throughout the years including: several NAACP awards, the Langston Hughes Award and Woman of The Year for several publications. She continues to share her work with the world with her latest collection, A Good Cry: What We Learn From Tears and Laughter is available today.

She did an interview with the host, Anna Sale from the podcast Death, Sex and Money. She shares moments from her life in all her spunky candor and when she finally learned that it is okay to cry. In life we all have our moments but we need to get things done and get pushing. Hopefully we all can learn to express our emotions before we hit the nice ripe age of 75.
